Jana Matiscik is a Slovak ceramist artist focusing on teaware. While being a mom of two lively boys she cherishes every second of being alone in her home studio. She loves to feel the structure of ceramics in her hands so after a piece is thrown on the pottery wheel she carves its surface with various tools.
By mixing her own glazes she searches for the perfect satin glaze with a breaking effect to emphasize carved patterns on the stoneware clay she is working with.
