I've been passionate about tea for over thirty years. I'm especially interested in how it's made and how different production methods affect its flavor, as well as the various ways of preparing it. My journey into the craft of tea ceramics began not only in the Czech Republic, but also in China, in the city of Yixing, and in Japan, where I had the chance to shape and fire my first Chawan. Today, I fire my ceramics in a wood-fired vaulted kiln. Currently, I'm focused on using as little glaze as possible to ensure that the inside of each vessel has minimal impact on the flavor of the tea. What I love most about this work is creating tea ware. That's why I specialize in making tea ceramics. It allows me to craft something of my own, make tea, reflect on the experience, and keep moving forward. David Štverák
