The other side of tea

2022 Mangshui Old Tree Huang Pian

7.90 49.00

The tea was harvested in the Baoshan mountains, near the Lincang River in Yunnan province. The tea comes from large-leaf variety old trees. It is a small production by Mr Yu Hongwen, whom we had the pleasure of visiting during our trip to Yunnan.

Huang Pian are mature, larger leaves, also known as yellow leaves, which are usually selected from the finished mao cha material before the tea is compressed. Huang Pian are tea leaves that are usually sweeter than the leaves used to produce puerh tea. They are milder, less bitter, and less astringent. They have a pleasant taste, especially those from older tea trees.

The tea we offer has a vegetal, fresh, and floral aroma and flavour, leaving a long-lasting aftertaste in the mouth.
