Huang Guan Yin aka ‘Yellow Goddess of Mercy’, also known as cultivar 105, is a variety created in Fujian province between 1977 and 1997 by the Fujian Tea Research Center. This tea was created by combining two varieties ~ Huang Dan and Tie Guan Yin.

A very mild and pleasant black tea with sweet notes of freshly threshed grain, dry hay, mushrooms, some honey notes, and dried fruit.

Another beautiful tea we brought back from this year’s trip to China.

Preparation
We recommend preparing in a small gaiwan or teapot of approximately 80-100ml. Use 5-6g of tea. The water temperature should be around 90°C. The first brewing should last about 20-30 seconds. Each subsequent one should take 5-10 seconds longer. However, we recommend experimenting a little to find a way to make the tea you like best.
