The other side of tea

This is a beautiful handmade tea, sun-dried like puerh teas, sourced from old tea trees growing in the mountains surrounding Nanmei village in Lincang Prefecture. The tea is produced traditionally by a small family manufacturer that we visited during our trip to Yunnan.

First impressions: Plum sweetness, dark red wine, flowers, honey, wood, vanilla notes. The infusion is velvety, smooth, deep, full, and sweet with delicate tannin.

The flavour and aroma of this shai hong tea changes over time. The above description is just an attempt to capture the momentary impressions and sensations brought by this shai hong.
