The other side of tea

2025 Mangshui Danzhu Old Tree Sheng Puerh

Price range: 12.00 € through 19.00 €

Tea selected from a single tree growing in the Baoshan mountains, near the Lincang River in Yunnan province. The tea comes from a large leaf cultivar tree. This is a small production by Mr Yu Hongwen, whom we had the pleasure of visiting during our trip to Yunnan.

The tea is balanced, delicate, and fresh. The aroma of dry leaves reveals the freshness of light fruits, raspberries, and meadows. After the first infusion, the tea releases oily plant and mineral notes. Deeper accents of leather, wood, honey, and flowers are also evident. The finish leaves us with a long-lasting aftertaste of bitter seeds. The tea is characterised by a beautifully balanced sweetness and bitterness.
