The other side of tea

2025 Yuanbao Shan Forest Lu Cha

Price range: 8.50 € through 27.00 €

The colours of these beautiful, fresh leaves still growing on the bushes range from a lush green reminiscent of moss, through burgundy and deep brown, to black. These wild varieties of tea bushes and trees, so different from those I have seen before, grow on the slopes of the Yuanbao Mountains. The days it took to reach these places are the essence of this tea.

The leaves are picked by the villagers and then processed by a small producer, the only one in the area who produces tea for sale. In my opinion, this is a truly rare tea delicacy.

The tea is full of spring flowers, fruits ripening in full sun, and the delicate tartness and sweetness of honey melon.

Tasting notes
The dry tea leaves smell of grass, meadows, and freshly threshed grain. The intensity of this aroma brings to mind a barn full of straw and hay. The tea is full of spring flowers, fruits ripened in the full sun, and the delicate acidity and sweetness of honeydew melon.
