The other side of tea

Chabu 茶布 – Dian Hong

These chabu are made of rescued cotton fabric supposed to go to the landfill. Colours come from natural dyes and leave no harmful trace in the water. Proces of extracting colour is slow and pattern intensity is unique and one off. Only few runners where created with this particular colour combination using chinese famous black tea Dian Hong, red cabbage and iron rust. Please hand wash with gentle soap and iron on cotton settings. Natural dyes are light sensitive and while in use the cloth will develop another layer of pattern left by tea drops and water marks. Each chabu is hand made and therefore unique.
